Kindergarten Incursions

Our popular kindergarten programs give children the opportunity to get hands-on catching waterbugs in their very own creek sample, as well as explore our other educational activities. We aim to create a connection between children and creek critters in a positive environment so that it may foster their love and protection of our natural environment in the future.

Details

Duration: 40 - 45 minutes

Maximum number of children per session: 26

Details: Our kindergarten program includes a combination of an interactive talk about waterbugs (fun dress-up!), hands-on waterbug catching and educational table and floor activities. We always conclude our sessions with a story about how our creeks become polluted.

Each child receives a sticker!

Set-up requirements: We require the following resources for this workshop:
  • An undercover area that can get wet with tables and chairs for around 13 children (4-5 large tables)
  • 4-5 spare tables with chairs for table activities. Some activities can be placed on carpet instead.
